Which journey are you buying?

San Pedro Belize Express lists domestic services linking Belize City, Caye Caulker and San Pedro. Check the departure port, destination and date in the actual ticket search. If you are traveling from mainland Belize to Ambergris Caye, make sure San Pedro is the arrival rather than treating a stop on another island as the end of the journey.

Book through the operator’s official channel and read the current ticket conditions. This guide does not fix a fare or sailing schedule for a future travel date.

Why should you check the terminal name?

The operator publishes separate mainland and island terminal details, and distinguishes its domestic San Pedro terminal from the Chetumal departure backport. Match the port in your confirmation to the current operator instructions. A Belize City street address is not a San Pedro arrival address.

Confirm Rio’s meeting point independently after identifying the ticket terminal. The operator’s terminal information does not establish that Rio’s office moved or that another ferry company uses the same dock. Keep the written directions available during the trip.

How do bags and onward plans affect the day?

Check the operator’s latest check-in and luggage instructions before departure. Plan enough time for the departure process, then collect checked bags after the island arrival before leaving the terminal area. Keep the contact details needed if your expected arrival changes.

For example, a group continuing to a hotel after the ferry should plan where all passengers and bags will meet. Share the suitcase count with Rio; a cart’s passenger category does not promise space for the same number of large suitcases.

What is separate from the ferry reservation?

Your ferry ticket covers the operator’s journey. Rio’s cart request, quote and handover are separate. Select Belize Express Water Taxi for the San Pedro pickup, share the date and expected island arrival, and agree the actual meeting point. Rio’s free local delivery does not replace mainland-to-terminal transport.

Review the full cart quote with required charges and accept it to confirm. For the return, allow for a cart handover and the ferry’s own check-in process before sailing.
