What should you enter for your accommodation?
Choose Hotel in Rio’s pickup location field and enter the property name. Give the exact hotel, villa or vacation-rental name used by your host, rather than only saying north of town or near the beach. Rio’s rental service is based in San Pedro on Ambergris Caye.
If the accommodation uses a listing name that differs from its building or reception name, explain both to the team. Ask the host for clear arrival directions and the appropriate guest meeting place. A familiar-looking property name is not enough to establish where a handover should happen.
Will you meet at the property or on arrival?
Decide where you want the cart handover to take place. You can choose the local airline or water taxi operator when meeting on arrival, or Hotel when arranging accommodation delivery. Do not select a hotel merely because you are staying there if the agreed meeting will be at an airport or terminal.
The journey from mainland Belize to San Pedro is separate from the cart rental. Arrange your local flight or water taxi and use the time you expect to be ready at the agreed island meeting point. All rental dates and times on the website use Belize local time, UTC−6.
Which access details are worth sharing?
Ask the accommodation where guests should meet a delivery and whether there are access instructions to pass on. A reception area, a property entrance and the door of an individual rental may be different places. Agree the handover with Rio rather than assuming cart access to every part of a property.
Keep a reachable phone available and share a useful host or reception instruction when needed. A property listing is not evidence of a partnership with Rio or a guarantee that staff will handle your rental. Confirm the arrangement with both parties if it depends on access or assistance.
What information can you send in one clear note?
Combine the location and arrival details so the team does not have to infer the plan from several short messages. State what is already agreed and which point still needs confirmation. Keep your reservation reference with the note when contacting Rio about an existing rental.
- Exact property name and the host’s guest meeting instructions.
- Requested date, Belize local time and pickup location.
- Arrival operator and any travel detail that affects when you will be ready.
- People, bags and any access or handling need to discuss.
- Return location if it differs from the pickup property.
How should you plan people and luggage?
Choose four-seat carts for up to four people or six-seat carts for up to six, including the driver and children. You can request several carts or a mix of both sizes. All selected carts share the entered pickup and return details, so discuss a split group or different schedules directly.
Delivery is free, and Rio helps with luggage and can drive you to your destination. Seats are not a suitcase allowance. Share the bag count and bulky items beforehand, then confirm how the actual handover will work instead of assuming extra luggage vehicles or equipment.
What if you change hotels or return somewhere else?
Check pickup and return separately in the request. If returning at another hotel, select Hotel for the return and enter that property’s name. If returning for a flight or water taxi, choose the relevant location and allow for handover before the operator’s check-in process.
Contact Rio with your reference when the property, dates or arrangements change. A message to your host does not update the rental, and changing the hotel name alone does not confirm a new meeting point. Ask whether the change needs a revised quote or a new agreement.
When is the delivery plan confirmed?
Agree the exact handover place and time with Rio before traveling. The office at Belize Express Terminal Water Taxi is staffed daily from 8 AM to 9 PM. Pickup times can be requested 24 hours a day; arrangements outside office hours still need confirmation.
Public prices are base rental only. Request your dates and carts to see the full quote with required charges, then review and accept it to confirm the reservation. A private link also follows by email. Pay the accepted total at the office or pickup and bring your valid driver’s licence and reference.
