A private island stay needs its own arrival plan

Cayo Espanto is a private island resort off San Pedro. The official arrival information describes a boat stage from San Pedro, with a separate helicopter option. Your choice affects the whole itinerary: some guests may pass through town, while others may not need a San Pedro land journey at all.

Decide first how you will reach the resort. Ask its reservations team to connect that plan with the international flight or domestic journey you have booked. Keep a written meeting instruction so the name of the island is not your only arrival detail.

Compare beachfront and overwater villas

The published villa collection includes Casa Olita and Casa Mañana among the one-bedroom beachfront choices, Casa Estrella among the two-bedroom options, and Casa Ventanas as an overwater bungalow. These are distinct settings and layouts, rather than interchangeable versions of a standard room.

Compare the actual villa description for the number of bedrooms, outdoor space and facilities. A plunge pool shown for one beachfront villa should not be assumed for the overwater bungalow. For a shared trip, ask which areas are private to each bedroom and which living spaces the group shares.

Check how town outings would work

If you want to spend part of the trip in San Pedro, discuss that outing with the resort before arranging other services. Confirm the town-side dock, luggage plan and the return connection. A resort transfer description does not establish an unrestricted public boat service.

Boat excursions and land exploration solve different needs. Snorkelling, diving and fishing require arrangements with the operator providing the trip; a cart day can cover suitable land stops after you reach San Pedro. Keep those plans separate so one booking does not imply another.

When a Rio cart is useful

A Rio cart can fit a confirmed San Pedro outing or the land portion before or after a Cayo Espanto stay. Agree a town-side meeting with Rio after the resort supplies the dock details. Neither the cart nor a hotel delivery request creates transport across the water.

For a day visit, choose a return point that works with the confirmed boat departure. Tell Rio the passenger count and whether bags will be present. Keep your room booking, island transfer and Rio quotation with the team responsible for each service.
