Start with your schedule
You may want a cart throughout your stay, or just for a few days of exploring. If you spend a day on a boat trip or arrive late in the afternoon, factor that into your pickup plan. Use your actual pickup and return times when requesting the rental.
What counts as a day?
The booking engine counts each started 24-hour period as a rental day. Pickup at 10 am on Monday and return at 10 am Tuesday is one day. A return after that begins another day. Belize time is UTC−6 year-round, so there is no daylight saving clock change to add or remove an hour.
The duration rule affects the base rental calculation. The full emailed quote shows the required charges, total, terms and expiry for you to review before accepting.
Where a weekly rate can help
A weekly rate can cost less than paying the daily rate for a longer trip. The break-even point depends on the current configured rates, which you can compare on our rental prices page. Your date search compares the lowest daily and weekly base rental combination. Required charges apply in addition to that base rental.
The booking engine chooses the lowest daily and weekly combination, including when a weekly rate costs less than paying for the remaining days. It does not invent hourly or monthly prices.
Approve the full emailed quote
The prices shown during your date search are BASE RENTAL only. Required charges apply. Submit your request to receive a full quote by email, then review the cart totals, included charges, terms and expiry before accepting. A request is not a confirmed booking. All quote totals use US dollars; pay the accepted total at pickup after confirmation.
For a longer or unusual rental, contact Rio before booking rather than assuming a special rate. Extensions require an agreed price and should be arranged before the original return time.
