Distinguish the resort from the marine reserve
Hol Chan Reef Resort & Villas is accommodation on Ambergris Caye, with individually named condos and villas. Its name should not be confused with a visit to the offshore Hol Chan Marine Reserve. A room reservation and a reef excursion are different plans with different access requirements.
The official management page lists resort facilities including two pools, a dock and an elevator. Choose the actual building and unit before comparing those facilities with your needs. A property-wide list does not establish the route from every condo to every shared space.
Compare the named condo, floor and view
The collection includes Aqua Seas, a two-bedroom lagoon-view condo, and larger oceanfront homes such as Villa Tortuga. Other units have their own floor positions, balconies and living spaces. Use the unit name or number whenever you ask about beds, bathrooms or access.
Some accommodation headings on the operator page repeat the same condo under different bedroom groupings. Have the manager confirm the configuration included in your reservation. Avoid treating a repeated listing as evidence of extra rooms, or assuming every condo can be booked in every configuration.
Plan arrival with the property manager
Ask the manager for the current land entrance, building name and unloading point. A beach-facing balcony or resort dock may be easy to recognise in a photograph but may not be where arriving guests should meet. Send your booked San Pedro flight or named ferry details before confirming the local connection.
If you choose a boat transfer or excursion from the dock, get the actual meeting instructions from the operator. The existence of a dock does not establish a public ferry service, included transfer or permission to use it independently.
Use Rio for confirmed island driving
Rio offers free hotel delivery with practical access and handover confirmed. Give Rio the resort and condo names so the meeting is connected to the correct entrance. Choose the dates you expect to explore by land rather than assuming boat-tour days require the same cart arrangement.
Keep enough time between the cart return and your departure connection. If you plan to visit Hol Chan Marine Reserve, book the boat trip with an excursion provider; Rio’s cart service covers the agreed land journey. Hotel accommodation, marine excursions and cart hire each need their own confirmation.
